A RAINBOW AMONG THE ROSES

 

At the Parade, we are many. We are dancing bodies, colors that express themselves, voices that sing and protest. But before we are a crowd, we are our own stories — many marked by the silence of a home that didn’t always embrace us. What does “home” mean for those who were taught to leave it?

 

This installation invites you to walk symbolically through memories and celebrations. The suspended fabrics in the garden of the Casa das Rosas are like fragments of affection: they recall the walls that sheltered us and the doors we had to close. They form a path that is not only physical, but intimate — a journey through what we left behind and what we have built with our own hands.

 

Here, among roses and portraits, we recreate the idea of home. Because Casa das Rosas is, today, also ours. It is a place that welcomes without asking, “why are you like this?” On this ground, we walk without fear of being who we are. To celebrate pride is, above all, to reclaim the right to exist in peace.

 

May each piece of fabric swaying in the wind remind us of the families who rejected us, but also of those we have created. May the path among the images serve, as it does in the Parade, a collective embrace for those who still carry the longing for an unspoken “I accept you.” And may we remember, at the end of the path: home is where we can, at last, stop and rest.
